Monty Burnette is President of Smith Mountain Land & Lumber Inc, which he and his brother Mack Burnette founded in 1990. Monty is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Accounting from the Class of 1989.
Monty Burnette is the President and founder of Smith Mountain Land and Lumber, Inc. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1989 with an Accounting degree he came back to his home town of Huddleston, VA. Once back, he started rebuilding the same mill that is father Monsey Burnette had run years earlier.

Mack Burnette is the older brother of Monty. Mack attended Auto Nashville Diesel College in Tennesse before returning back to Virginia, he worked Western Branch for a select number of years. Then later he came back into the sawmilling industry joining back up with his brother.

Matthew Burnette is the son of Monty Burnette. Matthew is a graduate of Central Virginia Community College with a degree in Business and is currently continuing his education at Lynchburg College.
